description:
This check monitors the digital optical diagnostics of Extreme Networks
 Fabric Engine switches via SNMP.

The check monitors the temperature, supply voltage, laser bias current,
optical transmit power (TX) and optical receive power (RX) of installed
SFP/SFP+ and multi-channel optical transceivers supporting DOM.

For single-channel transceivers, one service is created per physical port,
 containing all five sensor values.

For multi-channel transceivers, one service monitors the shared temperature
and voltage sensors, while additional services monitor the laser bias
current, TX power and RX power of each optical channel.

Temperature is reported in degrees Celsius, voltage in volts, bias
current in amperes (automatically scaled to mA), and optical power in dBm.
All measured values are provided as performance data.

The check determines sensor states by comparing the measured values against
configured upper and lower warning and critical thresholds. The status
values reported by the device are collected but are not used for sensor
 state evaluation.

Thresholds can be configured independently for each sensor type using
the rule "Extreme Networks VSP Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM)".

The following threshold modes are supported:

 - Device levels: Use the thresholds reported by the optical module.
 - Custom levels: Use user-defined warning and critical thresholds.
 - No levels: Disable threshold evaluation while retaining performance data.

Device levels are used by default.

item:
The physical interface name, optionally followed by the optical channel,
 for example "1/17" or "1/54 Channel 2".

discovery:
One service "DOM Port <item>" is discovered for each installed optical
 transceiver supporting DOM.

For multi-channel transceivers, one service monitors the shared module
sensors and one additional service is discovered per optical channel.

Transceivers without DOM support are not discovered.

Only ports with ifAdminStatus up(1) are discovered. Administratively
disabled ports with ifAdminStatus down(2), ports in testing(3) state,
and ports with unknown administrative status are excluded.
