title: Quantum Scalar i6: Library status and slot usage
agents: snmp
catalog: hw/storagehw/quantum
license: GPLv2
distribution: local
description:
This check monitors the overall state of the physical Quantum Scalar i3/i6
tape library and the usage of its storage slots, read via SNMP from the
 Quantum MIB (.1.3.6.1.4.1.3697.1.10.15.5.10 and .60).

The service state is the worst of these values:

{Robotics} (physicalLibraryState): {ready} is OK, {becomingReady} is WARN,
 {notReady} is CRIT.

 {Magazines} (aggregatedMagazineStatus): {allPresent} is OK,
 {notAllPresent} is WARN.

 {I/E area} (aggregatedIEAreaStatus): {insertedClosed} is OK,
 {ejectedOpen} is WARN.

 {Global RAS status} (libraryGlobalStatus): {greenGood} and
{greenInformation} are OK, {blueAttention} and {yellowWarning} are WARN,
{orangeDegraded} and {redFailure} are CRIT. This is the same status that
 {quantum_i6_rassubsystem} shows per subsystem.

 Unknown values are UNKNOWN.

The check also shows the usage of the data slots: the number of data
cartridges as a percentage of the storage slots that are not configured
as cleaning slots, for example {683 of 755 (72 free)}. Upper levels for
this percentage and lower levels for the number of cleaning tapes can be
set with the rule {Quantum Scalar i6 library status}. By default no levels
are set. The cleaning tapes only appear in the summary when they are below
 the levels.

The details show the number of storage, cleaning and I/E slots, data
 media and cleaning tapes.

The check produces the metrics {slots_used_percent}, {media} and
 {cleaning_tapes}.

The plugins of this family are detected on devices whose system description
starts with {Linux library} and whose product name
 (.1.3.6.1.4.1.3697.1.10.15.5.7) contains {Scalar i3-i6}.

discovery:
One service {Library status} is created per library.
