title: VMware vCenter Server Appliance: High Availability Cluster
agents: vcsa_health
catalog: app/vmware
license: GPL-2.0-only
distribution: check_mk
description:
 This check reports the state of a vCenter High Availability (VCHA) cluster,
 covering the cluster mode and the state of the active, passive and witness
 nodes. The data is retrieved by the special agent {agent_vcsa_health}.

 An enabled cluster is {OK}, maintenance and configuring modes are {WARN},
 and a node that is not up is {CRIT}. All states are configurable via the
 ruleset "VCSA High Availability cluster". Where the appliance reports a
 mode or node state that is not recognised, the service reports {UNKNOWN}
 rather than inferring health, so an unexpected response cannot produce a
 confident but incorrect result.

discovery:
 One service is created only on appliances where VCHA is configured.
 Appliances without VCHA get no service.
