title: XFS: Project Quotas
agents: linux
catalog: os/storage
license: GPLv2
distribution: kuhn-ruess
description:
 Monitors XFS project (directory) quotas. The agent plug-in {xfs_quota}
 runs {xfs_quota -x -c 'report -p -b -i -N'} for every mounted XFS
filesystem with project quota accounting and reports used blocks and
inodes together with their soft and hard limits.

The used space is evaluated relative to the hard limit (or the soft
limit, configurable; if only one is set, that one is used), in the same
way as the filesystem check: levels on used or free space in percent or
as absolute size, default WARN at 80% and CRIT at 90% used. Percentage
levels can be adapted to the quota size by the magic factor.

Independent of the levels, a reached hard limit is CRIT and an exceeded
soft limit WARN by default. Inodes are evaluated in percent of the inode
limit (default 80%/90%) if one is set.

The growth of the used space is averaged over a time range (default 24
hours). Optional levels apply to the growth per time range and to the
time left until the quota is full.

All parameters are set in the rule {XFS project quotas}. The agent
plug-in is deployed by the rule {XFS project quotas (Linux)}. The agent
 has to run as root.

item:
The name of the project, as defined in {/etc/projid}, or {#<id>}. If the
same project name appears on more than one filesystem, the mount point
 is added in brackets.

discovery:
One service is created for each project with a block or inode limit.

perfdata:
Used, free and total space, used space in percent, used inodes, growth,
trend and time left until full (same metrics as the filesystem check).
